Aside from working on The Wild Ones next season, and getting our new site ready, we also have a few other projects in the works. One being our first full length graphic novel! Myself along with our boy Dayne Henry (pencils and just all around bad ass), have been at work on the story and art for this book. It will be a four part mini series that will see the release of the first part later this year. I thought I would drop a little teaser since it was sitting on my desk. Enjoy!

As we’re building the new site, I went through our graphic assortment from the last year and upcoming seasons. There is something to be said about every tee, so I thought I’d go ahead and say it. Here is the story for some of my favorite tees from the last few seasons. Kinda hard to pick, I pretty much like them all..

First up is part 1 of our 2 part collaboration with Conart. I started painting graffiti in 1990, back then there wasn’t a lot of coverage on graffiti. No internet, not as many publications, and no apparel. The early 90s was when you started seeing brands pop up. Conart was one of the brands that stood out to me. I remember some of my favorite tees were by Hex, Mear, and Xpres. 2 yrs ago I got to meet Xpres, super good dude. I was really happy when we got together with Conart and got this collab going, easily one of my all time favorite TWO tees.
Next up we have another great collab..

DTA x Rogue Status x TWO
This piece was a lot fun, It was very easy and natural. When I sat down to draw it I knew exactly what story I wanted to paint. Inspired by old punk fliers, I touched on our government and economy today. This piece depicts the Banks as this over grown big mouthed devil eating up box cars. The image of the train not only stands for the canvas on which we shout on, but also the machine that carries the possibility for movement and growth in our society. In return, the bandit goes rogue, and denies their authority.

Next on my list is the Armando Huerta collab. I’ve been a fan of Armando’s work for quite some time, amazing work! I can’t say enough about The Dark Lord of Pin Up. I met him at Comic Con a couple years back and we became friends. His art and The Wild Ones was just a natural fit. Honestly, who doesn’t like a sexy pin up drawing?! Looking forward to seeing what great new work Armando has in store for us. Thank you Armando!!

ET x TWO
Needless to say, I’ve become quite fascinated with octopi over the years. The 8 arms/tentacles, their natural ability to produce and spray ink (making them artists of the ocean), lurking in the shadows, the eight arms….wait, I said that already. Imagine having 8 arms though, that would be amazing. This piece takes us back to old Japan, a story about the fisherman’s wife and a dream about her and an octopus. Need i say more? This piece is seen a lot in the tattoo community, it makes for some beautiful back pieces.

Last one for today, is a piece that Acorn and I worked on. Bringing us back to our love for comic books. This one is inspired by one of my favorite comic book artists, Todd McFarlane, the man! We have The Bandit swinging into action with his can at hand, delivering a beautiful crime to the city.

Risky Studio Visit

Went out to Thousand Oaks yesterday for a visit with the man himself. Before I started heading out, I mapquested the address, not realizing that it was about 100 miles away! It was a long ride, but well worth it. Risky is one of the guys responsible for what has become West Coast graffiti, and has inspired many in the game. It’s an honor to be working with him on this upcoming collaboration. We also had the homies from Mahfia.com come out and shoot the paint session. We’ll post the video announcing the drop date soon, very soon. For now, here are some pix from the day.

Jeff Soto and I have been friends for about 20 yrs. We got together and came up with a couple collaborations this year, one being a Jeff Soto x TWO collaboration that will have a limited release this Holiday, and an all doors release in the spring of 2011. It was really good teaming up with my old friend Jeff on these projects. We will release some peeks at the upcoming project in the next couple of months. My homie Steven sent me these pics of a new Mear piece off of La Brea. Mear has always been an influence on me, beautiful work. From the his technical ability of drawing figures and objects, to his elaborate compositions, amazing work. I believe this is a tribute to Alfonse Mucha, another great artist.
